Learning Outcome:
At the end of the lesson, students can,
1.
Define the word Adjective
2.
List 3 adjectives from the text
3.
Use 3 adjectives in making sentences.
Teaching aids:
Short story, plain papers, note (adjectives), marker, Flashcard
Warm-up: Word Race (5
minutes)
Gather students in the middle
Distribute them in two group
Provide two-word walls (chart) for each group on
the blackboard
Allow students to point any words that relate to
what a teacher said
Rule:
·
A teacher will say any sentences that relates
to words on the word wall and allow students to run and point it.
·
Record their score if they got the answer first
·
The group that got many score will be the winner
for the game
Revisit the previous learning through oral
question
Questions

Give one new word you remembered
Introduce the new topic and the learning
outcomes to students.
Presentation (5 minutes)
Check their understanding on Adjective
Provide notes along with examples on the new
topic ‘adjective’
Demonstrate the note to students with brief
examples
Practice: (15 minutes)
Provide a short story
Display new words from the story;
Thirty – tenebwi
Available – tatauraoi
Shortage – aki tau
Smaller – rang uarereke
Largest – rang abwabwaki
Allow students to guess the title by looking at
pictures on a chart.
Read first and then read with them
Allocate students into 2 groups by doing an
in-numbers game
Distribute to them their different text
In their different groups they will identify
adjective as many as they can found from the text
Present their work.
Give students 3 minutes to complete the task.
Production: (15
minutes)
Individual activity: select adjective from the text, then
pick 3 from it and make sentences
Pick 3 adjectives from the reading text and make
sentences for each.
Homework
1. Choose their favorite pet at home and write three
sentences to describe that pet.
Conclusion: (5
minutes)
Revisit the learning outcome through oral
questions.
